The Censorship project arose out of a concern for free speech and a desire to articulate the line between restricted speech and censorship. This particularly applies to the assault on free speech by fundamentalist religious groups.  There are many and deep questions in this topic: Where is the line between granting free speech and granting funding? Where is the line between tolerating free speech and tolerating abhorrent behavior?  More generally, where is the line between speech and action?
